5 Quick & Simple Baby Foods

Try these quick and nutritous foods for your baby. Always blend or puree to the level of texture that is suitable for your baby. A 6 month old will have a smoother puree with only a few lumps while a 9-12 month old baby will enjoy some lumps to chew on to strengthen their jaw muscles.

1) Avocado & Tuna - Mix together 1/4 avocado and 1 tablespoon drained, canned tuna in spring water. (Can be spread onto rice cakes when they are +9 months old). Loaded with omega-3's.

2) Cucumber & Yogurt  - Grate 1/4 Lebanese cucumber into a small bowl. Stir in 1 tablespoon full-fat, natural probiotic yoghurt. Great cooling food when they are teething.

3) Smooth Corn - Drain and blend a small can corn kernels until at desired texture for your baby. Contains dietary fibre and beta carotene.

4) Ricotta & Raspberries - Blend 2 tablespoons full-fat ricotta cheese with 10 fresh or frozen raspberries. Good source of dairy and antioxidants.

5) Mushy Peas - Cook 2 tablespoons frozen peas in boiling water for 5 minutes. Drain and blend to desired texture. Rich in vitamin C, fibre, protein and lutein for eye health.
